Personal Experience

The main reason for my first contact and later for my involvement with alternative therapies was my children and my inner urge. My son Aristoteles was born with allergic asthma. He had his first major crisis when he was 2 months old. His Pediatrician suggested cortisone for the next 10 days. When coughing and nocturnal dyspnea an extensive eczema made its appearance in child’s little body. Soon he had a bigger crisis that led us to the hospital. There the kid was granted again with cortisone medications. The hospital doctors warned us, our pediatrician also, that we must learn to live with these crises, until the child become 8 years old. To “feed”cortisone my child for all these years was not in my intentions, since in the meantime I was informed about the harmful side effects of the drug! So I asked for help from my good friend and leading homeopathic D. Andrea Zarkadoula. After 2 days the child was in perfect health and under his care Aristoteles was cured in the most natural way!

When I gave birth to my daughter Olga, my lower back was really traumatized. A few days after childbirth I was completely immobilized and in horrible pains I ended up to hospital. There, the doctors after detailed examination, recommended immediate surgery, or I was likely to be paralyzed in any moment. As you understand this was a terrible shock for me! My life has changed at once! From a mother with images of happiness with my newborn daughter I became in a moment a paralyzed woman with terrible images from surgeries and hospitals! All I knew was that I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I returned to my home and I was desperate, with excruciating pain. I threw all the injections and pills the doctors gave me and I started looking for an alternative solution. The eyes of my daughter gave me strength.

My “salvation” was a therapist who treated me with Functional Deep Tissue Massage and Spain Restoration and finally gave me back control of my body. It was certainly a very difficult period. I had to change many "beliefs" for the health and care of my body. I did a lot of detoxification and daily special exercises. But the result was amazing and all this experience was like a "miracle"!

Since then I was trying to “transfer”this miracle in every way! Every time I heard someone having problems, similar to my own (taking drugs or thinking of having surgery) I was trying to persuade him to check first for an alternative solution. Slowly the hidden desire to be a therapist my shelf grew but for a long time it was practically impossible! But: "When you want something really, the universe conspires to make it happen". Sometime later, in a phase of great difficulties and changes in my life, I was able to make my dream come true! So I went back to school and with the maturity of an adult but the enthusiasm of child I entered to a great period of education. Perhaps for the first time, I became a conscious student of life and I “took” the lessons one by one, all valuable, especially the most difficult of them! Until now, because this “discovering journey”never ends, the benefits are immeasurable. I became a better person for myself and for people around me, I learned to be happy, positive and open mind. In return of all these benefits, I am trying to encourage others people to learn to "listen" to their body and take responsibility of their own health and life. Bon voyage to us all!

Of course my personal "miracle" would not have taken place if I didn’t have support from my husband and my children, whom I thank for their love and patience!

"This was our third trip to Ekies in just over a year. We love the place.

This time we celebrated my 40th birthday and my Father's 70th with family and friends. It could not have been a better celebration! The Ekies team looked after brilliantly as they did on every trip. The food was amazing - it was even better than last year with outstanding seafood and lots of divine Greek cuisine. The special celebration meals were out of this world - they really exceeded our expectations with the the deliciousness of the food, service and setting.

We were a party of 20 with several very small kids. The team went out of their way to make every one of else feel like we were at home. The Ekies team is the loveliest I have ever met. Special mention goes to Dimitri, Ioanna, Niko, Maria and Ciprian. Voula is the incredible massage therapist! Mr Mavroudis and family, the owners, are always around and doing the best possible job of making your holiday extremely special."

"I must mention that I had the best treatment I have ever received from Voula who is the most professional therapist I have come across. Her expertise and holistic approach during my treatment with her was a wonderful experience and was very personal to me as an individual. Whilst talking with her I gained some valuable advice that I have brought home with me."

"Writing this midways during our 10 day vacation at Ekies All Senses Resort, with the purpose of encouraging as many as possible to visit this gorgeous place. The modern design hotel itself is ranked as 4 star, with several blocks and room types that will cater to most boutique style fans. What is 5 star about this place, is the location and atmosphere. And also the service and friendliness of the staff.

Brilliant for kids as well, since the resort never get crowded. Water is shallow and perfect, the pool is ideal for relaxing and having a drink (the bartender makes amazing mojitos). The atmosphere really is unique with this place, and even with kids, you will notice the "all senses" touch.

Now, despite how much I normally dislike half-board buffets in general, Ekies Resort is the only exception in my life of travelling across the planet. It is actually deliciuos and elegant, tasteful and fresh. If you leave this place with hunger, you´d rather seek a doctor or a shrink.

Free WiFi throughout the resort (although currently at low speed due to a recent storm), and all the amenities you could ask for. The lady (VOULA) at the spa was amazing, fixed my back in 45 mins."

"My husband found this on the internet and we were a little sceptical as it isn't sold this year by a British tour agent but was close to Thessaloniki and the airport and we had some BA points to use!

We arrived early morning due to flight delays and landed in a thunderstorm. By the time we got to the hotel, we were taken to our room in one of the small blocks a little walk away and were thoroughly soaked and tired. The room was on the ground floor and tiny despite the fact that it should have been a junior suite. The following morning my husband spoke to someone on the reception desk and got us moved into one of the loft suites. Fantastic! Space but just as important, light, plenty of light….

Voula - what can I say? You are such a wonderful and supportive lady and an extremely intuitive and understanding holistic therapist. You understood our bodies and instinctively gave them what we needed. Thank you both ....

We shall return to the Ekies family soon."
